Hoosier Shootout Home Page

Guys, we have been invited to participate at this high quality event, something to consider if not for this year, then maybe next year. It is a highly regarded smaller tournament, the quality of basketball will be very, very good and it is during the open period for college scouts. This is one other semi major event that we need to consider as part of our prep for nationals. If we go to something like this it will help you not be so shell shocked going to nationals. If we go to this one, and maybe one other local event on top of the California regionals and states, it should give us about 15 games to help us get ready to be competitive at Nationals.  Of course, money and then time is always the deciding factor. Please talk to your parents as we need some parents to be in charge of fund raising for this year and next. They would not only participate in fund raising events, but help organize events for all players/parents and book keep or tally all funds. Mr. Dimler has taken on the role of team administrator, so we need someone to step up in this area.

Below is the email string regarding the event:

Charlie,

I'll do all I can to help you.
1. We have arrangements with local hotels but not through a booking service, therefore you are free to use any hotel you like, a list can be found at http://www.hoosiershootout.com/motel.html
2. As much as I can I will help with your schedule, all teams must play twice on July 6th to satisfy NCAA rules later in the week.
3. Yes & No, we do not strictly follow aau age requirements, if you have high school eligibility for next year you can play as with 90% of summer events.
4. Yes the first 4 days of the evaluation period. Around 250 college coaches attended last year's event.

This is a major exposure event with a personal touch. If you have any questions about coaching in an NCAA Certified event such as the Hoosier Shootout go here:http://www.hoosiershootout.com/teamentry.html

Let me know if I can help in any further, we would love to have you.

ps -I recommend the Kentucky Hoopfest, immediately following the Hoosier Shootout, with no scheduling conflict it's only 90 miles away.

We are putting an AAU team together and even though we are just rounding out a team and beginning to enter a few tournaments just to get players some court time. I was on the east coast and coached high school/aau for quite a while so I am familiar with most of the rules etc., I now reside in Southern California. I am considering your event. Questions are as follows.
1. Do you have arrangements with local hotels at great discounts, are am I better served to research rates on our own?
2. Would you help us with the schedule if we participate, around our flights to Indiana?
3. Most likely we would submit a 17u team, are the player eligibility rules the same as aau?
4. Is this an open period for college scouts? If so, how many colleges were represented at last years event?
As mentioned we are just beginning to put a team together. My desire is to play at least two events where we travel and play high quality/exposure events this year, and a few local tournaments and leagues. Your email seems to an event that may be of high quality.
